I got a motorcycle

’80 Kawasaki KL250

I had been off motorcycles for so long I lost count of the years.

Then, the other day, I ended up with one: a Kawasaki KL250, probably more than thirty years old. I had been looking for a Cub or something like it, and this appeared instead.

The first bike I ever rode was an original 1985 GPZ400R. The KL250 went on sale in 1978, so this one may be older than that.

What do you think of the shape?

It is the kind of design nobody would draw now, and I find it hard to look away from. On the road it starts with one kick, and even around town it has more than enough power. At 250 cc the bike is light and easy to turn around. It fits the way I live now.

There is plenty still to fix. I plan to take that slowly and keep the bike for a long time.
