Long Way Round
The original title is Long Way Round. Ewan McGregor and his actor friend Charley Boorman ride from London to New York, crossing Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Siberia, and Canada on BMWs. It is a big journey.
They had planned to take KTMs. Just before departure KTM's consultants said no, so the trip switched to BMW in a hurry. Preparation, border crossings, and the rough tracks of Central Asia are full of trouble, and the story still keeps moving toward the finish. It does not get dull.
Ewan keeps dropping words he should not say on television. The cameraman starts a new problem every episode. Charley and the producer argue. Something is always going wrong. Then a landscape or a person they meet blows all of that away. If you have traveled, a lot of those scenes will make you grin.
I will stop there before I spoil it.
I would love to make a trip like that someday. If you like travel or motorcycles, watch it.
