Keihin CR carburetor and a slip-on, fitted to a Yamaha Bronco

This is the first in a series following the daily work of S, a former motorcycle tuner.
This time he fits a Keihin CR carburetor and a slip-on muffler to a Yamaha Bronco.

The tank, side covers, and the rest of the bodywork come off, then the stock carburetor.

This is the CR that is going on.

It fouled the frame as it sat, so that part of the carburetor was machined back.

The interference was here, on the frame.

After the cut, it sits like this.

The Bronco throttle is a single cable, so a spring stands in for the return wire.

The muffler is a loud one from a Chinese maker. It is far too noisy, so a baffle is coming later.

A glimpse of the CR lettering looks just right.
A short ride afterward showed more punch everywhere compared with stock. It is a more enjoyable bike.
