Honda Cross Cub 110, a conversation with Daisuke Kobori, part 2

Follow-up to the Kawasaki W650 interview. Kobori has bought a Honda Cross Cub 110, and I went to see it.
He had been on a Kawasaki KSR110. He sold that and became a Cross Cub 110 owner. The engine has less punch than the KSR, but the injected Cub starts easily, and as everyday transport he says it is a very good bike.

The main annoyance was a keychain rattling on the body while he rode. My Cross Cub 50 does the same. A keychain he found by chance fixed it. Look at the angle.

The handlebar switches are the ordinary motorcycle type. On recent Hondas the horn sits in the middle and the indicators below, the reverse of the old layout, so he often sounds the horn by mistake. It was designed around ergonomics. I still find the old positions easier.
On the Cross Cub 50 every switch is on the right. The story is that delivery riders needed to run the bike with the right hand alone. There is more than one version of that story.

Measured fuel economy is 62 km/L. Better than the Cross Cub 50.

M, who owns a CT125 Hunter Cub, happened to be passing and tried it. He said the Hunter Cub is "a motorcycle," and this one, in a good way, is "a Cub."
