2000 Harley-Davidson FLSTF Fat Boy

The Low Rider's rubber mounts never felt right to me. The next big twin was a Fat Boy, bought new: a 2000 Millennium model, with the Twin Cam 88B, up from 1,340 cc to 1,450 cc.

I used to customize a piece at a time, when I had the money, and the job never moved. This time I did a lot at once.

The favorite is a one-off SuperTrapp exhaust. A thick sound, not stupidly loud, and pleasant. Bars, indicators, seat, and a lower ride height. I was happy with it.

Enough vibration to feel like a Harley, and the heavy torque of the 1,450 cc Twin Cam. Slow or reasonably quick, it stayed interesting, and I could ride a long way without getting bored.

Circumstances made me sell it. It turned out to be the last Harley.
