CBR600 in Hawaii

The first time I went to Oahu I rented a CBR600.

The great part, if I am honest, was being allowed to ride without a helmet. I would still recommend wearing one. This particular CBR600 had a loud muffler, and with no helmet it was not kind to the ears.

From Waikiki, around the east of the island: Diamond Head, Hanauma Bay. Driving on the right for the first time was tense, and worth it.

The second trip. Back on Oahu after the Big Island, I rented the Fat Boy I had wanted since Terminator 2. I did not know I would own one a few years later.

Waikiki to the North Shore. A squall on the way, then the weather cleared and soaked clothes dried almost immediately. I understood why people there walk through the rain without much concern.

The road through the middle of the Dole pineapple fields is straight. A large, complete rainbow sat at the end of it. It looked like heaven. I understood why the Hawaii license plate has a rainbow on it.
