Privacy Policy

This policy describes how Galapagos Japan (galapagosjapan.com) handles information when you visit the site. The site is operated by Galapagos Japan, based in Japan.

Effective date: October 28, 2026.

Who runs this site

Galapagos Japan publishes workshop notes and road logs from Japan and operates the site from Japan. The site does not offer user accounts, and it does not ask you to submit a form. Messages go through the public channels listed on the contact page.

Access logs

The site is hosted on Vercel. Vercel keeps server access logs for that hosting. A log entry can include your IP address, browser type, the page you requested, the date and time, and the address of the page that referred you. Those logs are used to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the site.

Cookies and Google AdSense

The site shows advertisements with Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site and to other sites. Google's advertising cookies enable Google and its partners to serve ads based on those visits.

You can opt out of personalized ads at Google Ads Settings or at aboutads.info. Google explains how it uses data from sites that use its services in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

Embedded videos

Some posts embed videos from YouTube. YouTube may set cookies when a video loads or plays. Playback is handled by YouTube, not by this site.

Affiliate links

Posts may include affiliate links, including links to retailers such as Amazon. If you buy something through one of those links, Galapagos Japan may earn a commission. The seller sets the price you pay.

Children's privacy

This site is written for a general audience interested in vehicles, roads, and workshop work. It is not directed at children, and it does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent personal information here, write through the contact page.

This policy may be updated. When it is, the effective date at the top of this page will change. The version published at this address is the current one.
